The International Qur'anic Open University addresses the United Nations on an urgent matter of grave concern. I'm Tahirah Abdul-Haqq Clark, attorney for the International Qur'anic Open University's Human Rights Department. On Friday, August, 29th, a delegation of American Muslims representing the International Qur'anic Open University, visited the United Nations headquarters in New York City in response to media reports of imminent danger and lawless revolution being instigated by Tahir ul Qadri, a Canadian citizen, in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The International Qur'anic Open University demands that United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon address the volatile situation in Pakistan where thousands of women and children have been suffering in the elements for over two weeks without proper accommodations, having been brainwashed into engaging in a suicidal storming of the Parliament building. Tahir Qadri and his cohorts are using the well-known tactics of the "mullah mafia" to drag innocent women and children into a deadly game of cat and mouse, where the objective is to leverage their blood for sympathetic media attention.

Tahir-ul-Qadri, as he calls himselfThis same tactic was used in Islamabad at the Red Masjid in 2007, when the Mullahs intentionally allowed their students to become gun fodder for the army's attack for the sole purpose of gaining public support and sympathy from the international community. That resulted in the current unending insurgency and violent uprising of Taliban in Pakistan. The individuals who have joined Qadri's procession are mainly the staff and students of his private university along with their children. He is endangering their lives hoping that the imminent carnage will bring life to his cause. In reality, it will usher in an unending wave of bloodshed and civil strife that Pakistan will never recover from. The government is powerless to save those innocent lives from perishing under the harsh open skies, where lack of food, shelter and unsanitary conditions are dreadful and disease has already begun to spread. We, the International Qur'anic Open University demands that the United Nations and that the international humanitarian agencies and community stop this immediately.

The American Muslim scholars of Al-Azhar University issued a Fatwa on February 17, 2013, exposing Mr. Qadri as a fraud. Dr. Jemille Smith, MD, a well-known psychiatric practitioner has observed Tahir Qadri and identified him as suffering from paranoia and delusions of grandeur, requiring immediate commission into a mental institution.

On Saturday, August 30th, hundreds of Tahir Qadri's followers were injured after the police fired tear gas and rubber bullets as they advanced towards key government buildings in the heart of Islamabad. The Staff and Students of the International Qur'anic Open University at Islamberg, New York demand that the United Nations take immediate action to stop Tahir Qadri and his devious plan before it leads to the loss of thousands of innocent lives and the destruction of Pakistan.

We cannot forget that the core purpose of the United Nations as espoused in the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is to insure and protect the human rights of mankind. There is no time ...immediate action is a must.
